Something Crafty..

I have quite a lot of the wooden Moppe drawers from IKEA. I've had them for years. I'm not sure that they do this exact style anymore. Where they've been in storage, they'd got a bit grubby.
So in January, I decided to give them a freshen up, to go in the new surroundings. I gave them a rub over with a medium grade sandpaper, then painted them in different colours. I've got loads of scrapbook papers, so used that on the front of the drawers. Then added some scrapbook embellishments. I know a couple of my friends, Nikki & Wendie, have also been decorating their boxes. I think you can see Nikki's, on her blog page.
I've still got a few to do, but pleased with how these ones have turned out.

Yesterday's Stash..

Yesterday we brought in four stacking units from the Garage. The smaller blue one of the four, is full to the brim with scrapbook kits, papers and card. The next one is filled with Stamps, paints, scrapbook bits and pieces and loads of odds and ends. The last blue one is filled with miniature Teddy Bear Kits waiting to be sewn. Mohair and other teddy bear materials. Cotter pins, eyes etc.
The big black unit contains paints, varnishes, paint brushes and all manner of bits and pieces. These are all getting a really good sort out.
I did find in one of the drawers yesterday a Match Box, but its not a normal Matchbox. When you open it it contains a little Christmas scene.
I also found some tiny Knitted Toys.
As I said to Mick, I honestly believe the boxes have been breeding out there in the Garage, as I don't remember having all this stuff. There is loads more still to sort...

The Tote..

This is what I was sorting out yesterday. My Scrapbook Tote, I used to take this to the Scrapbook club and retreats.
Its amazing how much stuff you can actually get in there.

Scrapbooks For Kate.

Yesterday after I showed everyone some of my Scrapbook Stash. Kate left a comment asking what is Scrapbooking.
The official explanation from Wickapedia is:-

Scrapbooking is a method for preserving personal and family history in the form of photographs, printed media, and memorabilia contained in decorated albums, or scrapbooks.

But I thought it would be easier to show everyone some pictures from my own 12" x 12" albums. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger.

Two of these layouts were published in a Scrapbooking magazine. The 3rd Layout down of Ben and Harry in Sepia and the one of the boys dressed in Camouflage.

I've taken some more pictures of other layouts and I'll share them with you later.

Scrapbooking Stash & Miniatures...

I had an email from Mercedes at Liberty Biberty, this morning. Now what you might or might not know is, that myself and Mercedes also enjoy Scrap booking.
I told Mercedes, that I'd found some of my Stash and that I'd do a post to show you all. Now the good thing is a lot of the stuff made for Scrapbooks can also be used by us Miniaturists.
Things like Scrapbook paper, the little charms, Stamps, well all manner of things really and most of it is Acid Free.
Today, I got some of my stash out of the Garage, I've emptied boxes and washed and disinfected, everything again today and sort of taken over the Kitchen. Now everything is lovely and clean and can be transferred into the Caravan.
I also found in my Scrapbook Stash, the Reindeer Christmas Labels, I made about six years ago. I kept these two as I was so pleased with how they turned out.
