Today is the day.  I have printed and cut out all the entries

I folded and placed each one in a basket.........

And the lucky winner is..........

My New Purchase

Recently while returning from a hike, my husband and I dropped into a local antique shop.  I saw an old metal dollhouse, that had too many missing parts to make it worth purchasing, but as I was leaving I spyed a drawer from an old printers shop cabinet.  It's divided into cubicals for the letters of the alphabet, but as typical of most miniature makers, I saw another purpose, to display my collection of miniature accessories that are waiting to be placed in a miniature project.

I quickly negotiated a price of $20.00 for the drawer, and a deal was struck.  He informed me he had a second drawer, but since we had been out hiking, I had very little cash on me, and happily departed with the one drawer.

It was dirty and rusty, but with a little tender care, most of the rust was removed, to find a beautiful copper handle, and metal drawer front.  I mounted the drawer flat to the wall and I've started to fill it.  I have got to start emptying my stash of accessories stored away in boxes to completely fill this one.

The cubicals are a little shorter than I had anticipated, and I am thinking I will go back and get the second drawer and mount it on the wall sideways, and put my taller accessories in that one.

What do you think.........

I'm pleased with it, and it holds so much stuff!

Remember tomorrow is the last day to get your entries in for the Rug Give-A-Way.  Don't forget to leave a comment to have your name entered into the drawer.  Thank you to all the new followers who expressed an interest in my blog.  Welcome!

I've been busy working at the flowers, I really got carried away with the tulips!  I'll post more on that later.

I work best when I am multi tasking, I think it's a woman thing.  Am I allowed to say that??!!  Anyway, as I type today's posting, I have a new colour wet and setting in my hair, and I am worried that my idea of a colour change may have been too drastic, it's starting to look purple, so I'm off to wash it out right now, before the 20 mins I am suppose to wait is over....ha!!  Oh my!!

Until the next time............

Thank you Give-a-Way

I promised in my last posting to offer up a Give-A-Way to all the loyal followers who stuck with me while I was an absentee blogger.  I have checked through my stash and I've come up with this wonderful woven rug.  It's 8" x 11", so it's quite large, and it's woven in wonderful shades of burgundy, black, cream and blue.  I hope it will look wonderful in some miniature setting for one of my followers.  It's a machine woven rug with a lot of detail.

So I hope it finds a home in another great spot of the world.  I look at where all my followers are located and there's a great group of people from everywhere.  It's so interesting to see followers from so many parts of the world.   I was so impressed with all the different places I thought I would share a couple pictures of the city where I live, St John's, Newfoundland, Canada.  You don't realize how beautiful your part of the world is, until you see it through the eyes of someone else.  Just look at these fantastic pictures of St John's.  From downtown St John's ......

to what we call here, the "Outer Battery".....

It's a beautiful and colourful city and province.  I am fortunate to live in this wonderful part of the world.  I have so much inspiration for my mini making just in these colourful homes.

If you notice in my profile picture it was photographed with these colouful homes in the background.

Again, thank you for your interest in my minis, I've been busy making flowers all week, so everything is still a work in progress, and nothing specific to show today.  Hopefully I will have more to show in the coming week.

So drop me a comment if your interested in putting your name in for the Give-A-Way.  I'll make the drawer on next Sunday, June 10th, so you have one week to enter to win.

Again, thank you for your interest in the blog.

Until next time.....
Wanda

In a blink of an eye

I've just returned from Las Vegas to see the overwhelming response I'd received on my give-a-way.  I now have 115 followers, and I am so thankful to each and everyone of you for taking the time to read my blog and to be interested in what I am doing here.

Unfortunately in the blink of an eye, life can change and it is so important to live your life to the best each and every day.  While in Las Vegas my fiance's uncle suddenly passed away.  He was deeply loved by everyone who has ever met him, and he was a wonderful man.  We meet so many people in our lives who are confused with our choice of hobbies, and then you meet those who are absolutely impressed and in awe of what we do. Jim was one of those people.  He was a retired engineer and completely understood the skill and talent required to do what it is we do with our miniatures.

Jim passed away in the place he absolutely loved, his cabin, doing what he asbolutely what he loved to do, fly fishing. It's a sad time for everyone, and tomorrow we leave to go to his hometown for the funeral.

Unfortunately I will have to delay the draw for the give-a-way until I return on Sunday.  It will give others a few more days to enter if they choose to do so.  I apologize for the delay.  I also have to apologize to my fellow swappers because I had hoped to get the garden swaps mailed before I left for Vegas, but paint had still not dried on a couple of items and this task will also have to wait..  I am now back just long enough to unpack and repack to leave again.   I hope everything will be worth the wait once you receive them.

There are far too many new followers to list right now, but I promise to do that at a later date.  I have tried to keep up on my blog reading while in Las Vegas but the time difference for me (4.5 hours) made me extremely tired, so I am still three days behind on this as well.

I am leaving a picture of another project I am working on, my bakery, and a peep into the front door to see all the shelving on the back wall.  More to follow on this project in the future.

Give-a-way

I am quickly approaching 100 followers and to spur things along I have put together a give-a-way.  In making all the accessories for my garden shed, I have accumulated lots of duplicates, so I have put together some of these items.  You will see the garden caddy with all the accessories, two crates (with or without labels, winner's choice), two wooden signs, one small and one large, and a fern also made by me.  Also not shown I will throw in lots and lots of garden related printies.  Be prepared to cut and glue!!

Here's the deal, there are three chances to win:-

1. If you are interested, leave a comment.

2. If you post the give-a-way on your blog, send me a second comment to let me know, and your name goes in a second time.

3. If a new follower signs up, because of your link, and they tell me they saw the link on your blog when they leave their comment (so you need to put this on your blog) they get an entry and you will also get a third entry.  So it's three chances to win.  (Hope this is not too confusing....I am good and making things complicated!!)

I am leaving to go to Las Vegas at the end of the week (for business....yes, yes....lol....believe me no one goes to Las Vegas in July unless they have to).  When I return I will draw for the winner on August 9th.

I would love to see that this grows enough interest in the blog to reach my 100 follower goal, and hopefully blow it out of the water!

In the meanwhile, I am still in town until early Friday morning, so I will keep monitoring things until then.  And I am sure I will be posting again.  Things have come to a little of a standstill with the roof of the garden shed.  My drill is broken and I have to drill several holes before I can install the roof joists.  Looks like I will have to purchase a new drill soon.  So if my fiance is reading, my birthday is fast approaching and a drill is a good birthday gift!!  (Have to put hints whereever you can..lol).

Most importantly, I have two more followers to welcome.  Please take the time to visit their blogs.

Thanks for taking an interest in my blog.
