Eggs, Baby Birds & Cages...

A couple of weeks ago Janice, showed some fabulous Miniature Cages on her blog.
They are just what I've been looking for, for Eeylops Owl Emporium and Janice, very kindly shared the link to the Etsy Shop, from where she brought them. I went over to have a look and ended up ordering six of the little Cage's. Well they arrived yesterday, actually much sooner then I expected and I have to say they are really lovely. I just need to get some chain, as I want to hang them from the ceiling in Eeylops. The seller also very kindly included some little charms, which I'm sure will come in handy either in my Miniatures or my Scrapbooks. There are some fabulous charms, in this Etsy shop, lots of which could be used in our Miniature Hobby. I did notice some Tiny little Eiffel Towers in there and some tiny glass bottles. I ended up spending nearly an hour looking through there, so be prepared.
On the home front, while up in the top of the field, a few weeks ago, we found a tiny Blue and White empty Egg Shell, right next to the Hedge. We think it belongs to a Robin, as there are quite a few of them nesting up there. But I could be totally wrong on the species and it might belong to something else.
We have lots of Swallows/House Martins nesting around our house under the eaves, but they are also nesting in our Wood Store and in the Stables. The Cats are being constantly dive bombed, by the Adults, trying to protect their babies.
We knew one of the Nests in the Stables had Chicks in, but until yesterday we haven't been able to see them. I walked in there with the camera and a couple of the Chicks were peeking out of the top of the nest, not at all fazed by me and the camera. There are definitely Four Chicks in there, but we think there could be five. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger, so you can get a good look. I just love all the fluff around their heads, they look so snug in the nest and so cute...

Leather Books

Whilst I was in Cardigan the other day, doing some Christmas Shopping. I popped into the Dolls House Shop.
I wanted some wood, for a little project I'm working on. While I was having a good look round I spied this lovely little Leather Books. I think they will look perfect in either, Flourish & Blotts or The Toll House when its completed.

For Eeylops Owl Emporium

When Debie, went to Miniaturia this year to help out Mary. Mary's stall was right next to Lidi Stroud. (Mary I have to say that new drunken Doll you've made, reminds me of one of my friends, after she's been on the Tia Maria...Hic. I think you have a good idea whom I'm talking about..LOL).
You may know Lidi by her business name Nambuccas Little Shoppe. All three ladies Mary, Debie & Lidi are all A.I.M members.
Debie brought herself a beautiful Tribal pot, which she brought with her to show me, you can see similar one's on Lidi's web site and she brought this back for me, as an early Christmas Present. I'll leave it to Debie to show you what I brought her, for Christmas.
Isn't it fabulous?. I absolutely Love it, it has been so beautifully made. If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger.
It will be taking pride of place in Eeylops Owl Emporium.
Thank you so much Debie. xxxx

Owl Post...

Well as I said in my earlier post today. I was expecting a parcel from Julie and it's arrived. Now Julie told me, to make sure the Doors and Windows were shut , when I opened the book.
Good job they were, as the Owls flew out, straight over to Eeylops Owl Emporium, to the kindly shop keeper (who was made by my friend Debie) who was waiting outside for them. She must have already been informed of their arrival.
As you can see, they've certainly made themselves right at home.
The little Owl on the Wand is so cute. Everything has been beautifully made.
Now don't forget, Julie will be listing some of her Owl creations on Etsy this evening at approximately 7.30PM GMT. But like I said this morning, be quick as I think they are going to fly out of the shop...

A Whole Lot Of Owls

I did a blog post about my friend Julie, at the beginning of October and shared her work with you all.
Well Julie has been very busy, making a whole lot of Owls. Which she will be listing in her Etsy Shop, this evening at approximately 7.30pm.
I'm sure they will be flying out of her shop, this evening.

I'm actually waiting for a parcel from Julie, for Eeylops Owl Emporium. If it arrives today, I'll take some pictures and share them.

Eeylops Owl Emporium...

Some time ago, do you remember sculpting Ollie Owl. Well, when Debie came down and she saw Diagon Alley, it got her creative juices flowing and she made this little nest of baby Owls to go in Eeylops. I've also made a couple of baby Owls, but they are not finished yet. Thanks for Sharing your tips Debie.
Now, I also have a lovely collection of Owls, from Annie Willis of Fine Design, which are wonderfully made and covered in real feathers. But I'm going to need quite a few Owls to fill Eeylops, so I'm going to start making a few myself to fill the rafters..
You can see my attempts in the bottom two pictures. Please remember these are a work in progress. (If you click on the pictures they will pop up bigger, please excuse the poor quality, but I was in a rush)..
I'm making steady progress, but its taking me quite a time with swollen hands, but all in all I'm having a Hoot...LOL
I've been studying Owl pictures on the internet, for days. To give you some idea of how big they are, the smallest one at the back of the picture is approx 2cm.

Eeylops Owl Emporium

Recently, the lovely Julia over on Bearcabin Miniatures, asked if anyone would like to do a swap. Julia was offering one of her beautiful miniature tapestries. I contacted Julia and said that I'd love to do a swap.
Julia emailed me and said she would make a special sampler, just for Eeylops Owl Emporium.
Isn't it fabulous?. If you click on the pictures, they will blow up bigger.
Thank you so much Julia, I Love it and I hope you are feeling better.. xxxxx

Look Who's Landed...

Look who's landed over at our place.

Debie from Piskies and Poppets made a wonderful flying Witch, that was featured in the October issue of AIM. If you click on the name it will take you over to the tutorial.
Well I fell in love with "The Flying Witch" and she is officially my Get Well Present to myself.. LOL..

I also asked Debie if she could make me a kindly shop keeper for Eeylops Owl Emporium and she is wonderful. I'm thrilled to bits with her and has the most wonderful kind face. Unfortunately, the batteries on my camera ran out, so these are the only photographs that I have at the moment and they really don't do either Doll justice. Hopefully, Debie has some better ones that she will share over on her blog, until I can get some batteries.

I'm Back From Miniatura...

After leaving home at 6.15am this morning, I got back indoors at 8.00pm this evening. I've had a wonderful day and I think Nikki did too. Nikki's also safe indoors now. I am totally cream crackered.
I managed to get some photographs and I brought some goodies to show you all, but you'll have to wait till tomorrow to see them, as I need to photograph them. I met up with some old friends who were there as exhibitors and we had a good chin wag to catch up on every one's news.
I went to see Annie Willis of Fine Design and yes I did buy something from her. Unfortunately, Annie doesn't have a web site but can be contacted via email.
She had the most wonderful Eagle Owl on her stall, that has a magnet in its head, when you passed another magnet passed it, the head turned. It was brilliant to watch. She also had the most wonderful bats, but someone had brought the lot, so I was out of luck and at £20.00 a pop, someone went home with a smile on their face.
If you look at the bottom photograph you can see the Tawny Owls. It was one of these that came home with me.. I'll show you the rest of the photographs tomorrow. Going to catch up with everyone else's blogs now, then I'm off to bed...
