Birthday Give Away ....Winner

Firstly, I apologise for being late with this. I got a bit carried away over the weekend, looking through hundreds of old photographs and to be totally honest, forgot to announce the winner..

Thank you to everyone that entered, I can't believe how close some of you got.

But the only one that got the correct answer was.................................................................... Alison from Bliss Miniatures. She was correct in saying that I made 134 cakes...
Many Congratulations Alison, please contact me with your full postal address and I'll get your gift in the post...xxx

Just a quick question, have you all entered the Birthday Give away?
You have until the end of the day, GMT on 21st January, to enter and leave your answer to the question here.. I will be announcing the winner on the 22nd January 2011.
So far no one has got the answer Spot on! Some of you are so close. Now if no one guesses the correct answer. I will use the number either side and put those numbers in the hat...

Good Luck Everyone... xxxx

Birthday Presents...

Well I know you've all been waiting, to see what I got in those presents. I was such a good girl and left them alone, else the temptation would have been too great to rip a little hole in the wrapping..
Ben & Harry, brought me the Flower Pot Cottage Kit, from Petite Properties Ltd. Which I wasn't allowed to open until Harry got in from School at 4pm this evening! I've had my eye on one of these kits for ages, and I'm glad to say my Boys do listen to their Mum. Really looking forward to putting this together.
I also got the Harry Potter Film Wizardry Book, which has already been written about by Kate & Michelle. I have to say its a brilliant book full of details that maybe we've all missed in the films. I Love it.
In the presents that Mick got me, were the Dragonology and Monsterology books that I wanted. To see the whole range of Ology books, just click on Ology to go to their site. They are very similar to the Harry Potter book, and are filled with lots of information and pull out bits and envelopes to open.
In the other parcel, Mick had stacked three DVDs, that's why the shape had thrown me. I'm a bit of a Steven Seagal fan and have all his films, these are new ones to add to the collection. I also got some clothes.
Mick's parents sent me some money to treat myself with.
My friend Tasha, came round for Lunch and we did eat a few cakes, but I sent her home with a tin full for her Boys. (That's if she didn't eat any on the way home).
Thank you to everyone that sent Cards, emails and left messages on my previous post and the hundreds of posts on my Facebook. I really appreciate them..
And a very special Thank you to the Miniature Witches, you made me cry with laughter today. You know who you all are, all I'll say is, I hope Johnny's not to exhausted and that there is some of that Rum left...Hic xxxxx

What's In The Parcels....?

See these parcel's, they have been sitting in my Lounge since Saturday, tormenting me!
They are my Birthday Presents from Hubby. Tomorrow, I get to rip that paper right off. I've been having a crafty poke and I've got an idea what the big parcel is on the bottom, but the one on the top has got me stumped! It feels like its three things, stacked one on top of the other. But I've been told not to squeeze it! Oh the torment..
My friend Tash, is coming over for Lunch tomorrow, so I thought I'd do some baking and got a bit carried away. Made a huge batch of Nanny Pope's Cakes and lots of Butterfly Cakes.
Yes, all seven tins are filled and there are two layers in every tin. Mind you, Mick and Harry, are already making short work of them and Ben's coming back from Uni tomorrow, so those cakes will steadily disappear..

Christmas Day...

Christmas Day started in our House at 5.30am. Not my choice, but I have a Harry! The saucy little Herbert, used his mobile phone to ring the House phone to wake everyone up. Lucky for him, I was already awake, laying in Bed listening to my Hubby, snoring his head off. Harry stood outside our Bedroom Door and heard me asking Mick, who it was on the phone! Its OK I forgave him, he was just so excited..
I got up and joined him downstairs, but he wasn't allowed to open his presents, until Ben & Mick got up. If you look at the pictures closely, you can actually see we went from complete blackness outside to Day Break.
The Boys were pleased with all their presents and I had a couple of lovely surprises. Ben loved the Dragon Art Book we got him and Harry was thrilled to bits with his Osprey's Rugby top.
After the boys opened their presents, we gave each of the Dogs their Stockings. I managed to get a picture of Jasper & Merlin, but for some reason, I haven't got any of Storm and Moses.
We had our Christmas Dinner about 1.30pm. Disaster was narrowly avoided as I'd forgotten to put the Crackers on the table!
The Boys wanted Giant Prawn Cocktails for their Starter. We also did some Brown Bread with Cream Cheese and Oak Smoked Salmon.
That was then followed by our Christmas Dinner of Roast Turkey, Gammon, Roast Potatoes, Parsnips, Peas, Carrots, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Pigs In Blankets, Yorkshire Puddings, Cranberry Stuffing and lovely thick Gravy. We were all so full after Dinner that we didn't have any Dessert. But had Chocolate Fudge Log and Cream later on in the Evening while we were watching one of the DVDs Harry got for Christmas...

Happy Birthday Ben....

Today is Ben's 19TH Birthday. Happy Birthday Ben, we Love you loads...xxxx
Courtney, Ben's Girlfriend and the Daughter of Debie, came down yesterday by train to spend a long weekend. (I spoke to Debie last night, and she's having problems with her internet again, just in case any of you were wondering where she's gone).
This morning Ben got up to the stack of crates, that we have been filling for him to take to University. The bottom crate is filled with his books for Psychology, (we haven't had the book list for Criminology yet!) pad's, pens, hole punch, stapler, highlighters, post-its, folders etc. The next one up has got a huge tub of Vitamin C in it, enough Lynx body wash and soap to see him through the first academic year, First Aid kit, paracetamol, plasters, shaving cream, Carving Knives, Chopping Boards, etc.
The top crate has lots of Kitchen gadgets, glasses, Mugs, a set of Frying Pans, Cocktail Shaker (which is apparently a must have!!!), rails that fit over the radiator in his room to air his clothes and other little bits & pieces. The first box on top of the crate, contains a dinner service, the next box contains a desk fan, then on top of that is a lap tray and a hanging rail thingy, that you can hang little bits of washing on to dry..
I also filled a posh Red present box with The Marvel Encyclopedia, a Marvel T-Shirt, a set of cookery books, the Hocus Pocus DVD, Shaver, a Men's Grooming Set, a tiny Teddy Bear, and some wooden spoons and cooking utensils. I've also brought him new sheets and covers, as the bed at Uni is only a single and he has a double bed here.
His Nan and Grandad gave him a cheque and also brought him a lovely set of Saucepans from Marks and Spencers, a new quilt and pillows.
Tonight Ben has a few of his friends coming over to celebrate with him and I think there is going to be a mass camp out.....

Meet Pogle & Congratulations Ben...

Do you remember, that when Debie came to stay, she gave me a sculpting lesson?
Well this little chap was the result. Please meet Pogle. (If you click on the pictures, they should pop up bigger). I did try to follow along, as Debie was making this little chap, but my hands were so hot, my clay ended up like chewing gum.
The only input I had was making the little flowers for his hat.
I'm definitely going to have another go when the weather is cooler.
Debie and her Poppets, are coming back on Friday this week, for the weekend and we are all going to Harry's Riding Schools Pirate Fun Day.

On the home front, I went with Ben to get his "A" level results this morning. I'm very pleased to announce that Ben passed all Five of his "A" Levels.
To say that we are all as pleased as punch, is a bit of an under statement.. Ben is now looking forward to starting Aberystwyth University, in September to study Criminology and Psychology.
Many Congratulations Ben, you deserve every success, especially after all the hard work you put in..xxxx

Poppet's Presents....

Hopefully, I 'll get this posted before the PC, decides to switch its self off again. Thank you to everyone, that replied to my plea of help.
These were presents from Debie, when she came to stay.
The Cauldron is fabulous, I just love how Debie has Patched him. I think I'm going to save this for the Witches Hat Shop. It really looks like it is made from Iron.
The Troll Toe is grotesquely gruesome, the attention to detail is amazing, just look at the nail, most certainly needs a pedicure with a Troll sized set of nail clippers. LOL
Last but not least is the Skull stand, I think this will look good with a Creepy plant on it, or some semi melted Candles.
I have something else to show you, but I need to get some better pictures.
As you all may have read over on Debie's blog, My Tiny Treasures and Debie's little Poppets, have really hit it off. So much so, that Ben is now with Courtney and Harry is with Megan!!!! So if you try to ring, either House Hold, and you find an engaged signal, its not that our phones are out of order, but the kids are on the phone...
If you click on the pictures, they will pop up bigger...
